It’s that time. The Old Firm is just two days away and Ibrox Noise will get straight into it with our predicted XI to face Celtic.

Goals:

Despite our mischief on April Fool’s day, McGregor is fine. He will of course start.

Defence:

This is already where Gio has some decisions to make. Tav and Goldson, of course, no change there, but who takes the other side.

Bassey is now far from a guaranteed starter, and his weaknesses as a LB were deeply exposed v Ghana midweek, whereas Barisic was outstanding for his country and could well get the nod at LB. He knows how to play v Celtic even if the last one was poor. So partnering Goldson? It’s literally one of three. It’s the Balogun, Helander or Bassey show. Bassey has been so heavily used by Gio, but majorly in part because of injury and confidence issues on the part of other players. He’s not our best CB and on form Barisic is our best LB.

Midfield:

Jack and Lundstram. Not even a debate here.

Attacking midfield:

Kent and Ramsey are surely certain starters. We believe Joe Aribo may miss this one on form issues, which leaves the last slot open to Sakala, Roofe, Wright, Lowry, Arfield or Diallo. It’s take your pick here, but we think it’ll be Roofe.

Attack:

It’s Morelos or Sakala. If Morelos is fit, him. If no, it’s Sakala.
