Aaron Ramsey’s Rangers career is as good as over after GVB confirmed he will miss at least the next three matches, each of which are critical and the reasons he joined.

Motherwell, Leipzig and Celtic are all missing the Wales international, and those matches were effectively the reason he was signed – but the news doesn’t get any better for Rangers after Kemar Roofe was also confirmed to be fortunate to be fit again by the time the Germans come to Govan.

Rangers have worked miracles covering Alfredo Morelos’ absence with some industrious performances, and GVB adapted brilliantly to the Colombian’s injury by adjusting the system for Roofe.

But now Roofe is gone too, meaning Rangers have to rely on Fashion Sakala for the next three critical games, which is unlikely to fill fans with a lot of confidence.

The Zambian might be popular but he’s failed to convince supporters he’s worthy of the shirt, long term.

Meaning, ultimately, we absolutely 100% have to rely on GVB’s brilliance in adversity to find a way around the loss of these two big men for Rangers.

That’s Alfredo Morelos, Filip Helander, Ianis Hagi, Aaron Ramsey and Kemar Roofe more or less out for the season.

Not what we needed at all.

  1. This might sound a bit mad but what about Aribo up front, hes big, strong, can hold ball up. Would suit our play.

    • I said a similar thing to my mate and my son yesterday Dutchy. I think he could do a job definitely. Another option is to play the Man City way with no striker

  2. Defos Bill, i think the Man City way wouod be good in lge for rest of season. But n Europe try Aribo, just so he can hold it up and let us hit on counter like Morelos did. Agreed 👍

  3. I sometimes wonder if its our backroom team, like physios. As we seem to always have an awful lot of injuries last few years Stuart.
