OK, Tav is just ridiculous.

This is the first time a defender has ever been top/joint top scorer in the Europa League at the business end of the season.

Yeh, there have been some defenders who have climbed to the top of the table before, but that was after the first few games, when crazy stuff can happen; but never in April.

But that is not all.

Connor Goldson is ranked the top defender in the Europa League, and Allan McGregor is ranked the top goal keeper, and in terms of percentage accuracy in front of goals Morelos still tops the table with 17 shots on target out of 26 shots taken, and only three of his shots were blocked by a defender.

Rangers as a team are also top of the table in the number of goals scored (19), we are also third in the table on number of attempts made on goal (at 146), and we are a very impressive second in the number of attacks made at 431. So, these stats suggest Rangers are not sitting in deep and just hitting on the counter.

And in the Europa League tables, at the back, Rangers are ranked a solid top in defending as a team, with 502 balls recovered, and 113 tackles, and we are also top of the table in the number of saves made at 37.

So, what do all these statistics tell us?

Well it tells us we have no midfield….

In fact, in the rankings for possession and ball distribution we are absolutely nowhere.

This means, despite being the most attack minded team in the competition, we are also the easiest team to slice through and get a shot on goal, and that is why they everyone still thinks we are have no chance to win this cup

But do we don’t care….. hell No.

Because statistics clearly haven’t made a big difference here.

It’s the quality of the chances made, and how a team plays that is far more important.

And when we as a team don’t know half the time how we get the ball from one end of the park to the other, our opponents sure have no chance to predict what we will do.

Heck, if football was just about statistics we wouldn’t need to play.

But there is one thing we are certain about.

Rangers are back.

Now to put Celtic in their place…
