Ibrox Noise are among the first defenders of our club and our support when it comes to the media and how we’re portrayed. Look at the Gazza stuff. Appalling.

But we cannot on any level condone the despicable act of throwing a glass bottle onto the pitch today, in an act which could have major and serious consequences for this club in the future.

Not only is it disgraceful enough that a Celtic player could have been wounded by this absolute moron, in behaviour that is simply criminal, but more absolute lunacy one of our own players could have been too.

We did receive a name on the site of the alleged perpetrator, but we don’t want to make false accusations against the name we got, but whoever this person was, they have committed a moment of absolute folly which has dragged Rangers’ name into the gutter.

And we can have no defence for the headlines we’ll receive.

The papers already find enough ammunition against our club without a dipstick fan adding to that and giving them an open goal.

But this was ridiculous. Horrendous.

Whether it was hurled as a glass bottle or shards of it were thrown instead, it’s simply inexcusable.

Whoever this was can be banned for life, and frankly deserves criminal charges against him or her.

There is no place for missile throwing, even less for chucking a lethal object that can do serious serious damage.

Abhorrent.
