Over the years Tavernier has been given a lot of stick by many fans and many even at IN there has been some who have been very critical of his defensive abilities, but over the years he has grown stronger; and now justifying our faith in him, he is now ranked the 4th top striker in the Europa League.

Yep, a defender is now the 4th best striker, sitting proudly amongst some of the best forwards Europe has to offer, with 4 goals and 3 assists.

And of course, Morelos is well up there too.

And when we look at the defenders, this is where the Europa League stats make very sober reading for those who think all our defenders suck at their day jobs.

Connor Goldson is ranked second in the Europa League. Yes, second, with 51 balls recovered, 6 tackles and an absolutely massive 42 clearances, in just 8 matches.

On the same table, Tavernier is 12th Barisic is 19th, and Bassey is 32nd. Yes, I bet that surprised a few people.

In fact, the UEFA chart rates Rangers’ defence as being the best in the entire Europa League, with the only other team with two players in the top 15 being Betis; and, ironically, their two best defenders are midfielders!

So, all we have to do is take this European form into the Scottish league, and we should win easily.
