Sakala starts – predicted XI for Rangers v Aberdeen
MOTHERWELL, SCOTLAND - OCTOBER 31: Fashion Sakala (L) of Rangers celebrates with teammate Alfredo Morelos after scoring their side's second goal during the Cinch Scottish Premiership match between Motherwell FC and Rangers FC at Fir Park on October 31, 2021 in Motherwell, Scotland. Rangers really need to return to form with tomorrow’s hosting of Aberdeen as our 150th anniversary celebrations formally get underway.

As nice as celebrating a century and a half of the Famous is, the 3 points are all that really matters and Rangers’ players need to really put in a shift and a half against a Dons side that will be desperate to spoil any party.

As such, what XI will Gio select?

Allan McGregor has been getting tonnes of support despite poor form, so he’ll get the nod again.

In defence, we have a host of options at last, with all three alpha defenders available – Goldson, Balogun and Helander. Goldson and Balogun are likely to be the pair.

At fullback, it’ll be Tav and Bassey again.

Midfield?

With Jack back, he and John Lundstram will take their rightful places as our best in that position and the go-to choice there.

Attacking midfield?

Kent on the left, Aribo central despite his weak form, and Sakala on the right.

Yes, we’re making the call that Fashion Sakala, having scored on his last start, will get the nod to prove himself amidst Scotty Arfield’s running on empty, and Amad Diallo not being available.

Up front Alfie, easy.

So, your (wildly wrong) Ibrox Noise XI:

McGregor; Tavernier, Goldson, Balogun, Bassey; Jack, Lundstram; Sakala, Aribo, Kent; Morelos

The bench options are a bit healthier than recent:

McCrorie, Zukowski, Helander, Barisic, Kamara, Arfield, Lowry, Wright, Roofe

Hopefully a good win.
