Ryan Kent makes superb dig at the SPL
GLASGOW, SCOTLAND - APRIL 18: Scott Brown of Celtic fouls Ryan Kent of Rangers and earns a yellow card during the Scottish Cup game between Rangers and Celtic at Ibrox Stadium on April 18, 2021 in Glasgow, Scotland. Sporting stadiums around the UK remain under strict restrictions due to the Coronavirus Pandemic as Government social distancing laws prohibit fans inside venues resulting in games being played behind closed doors. Ryan Kent has revealed exactly what Ibrox Noise told you only a few days ago, as Rangers prepare to face Red Star.

Ibrox Noise posted:

“People who whine at Ryan Kent for domestic inconsistency don’t have a clue. The hammer throwers in the SPL stop him all the time by foul means. When he faces real football teams on the continent he’s a beast. Simple.”

There was a lot of strong agreement with this from our readers, but a sizable chunk also continued to attack the view and Kent, stating he’s just too inconsistent (rather making our point for us) domestically.

Kent, for his part, agreed completely with us, saying:

“I think the level of opposition goes up (in the UEL) which tends to make the games a lot more open. You know, both sets of teams want to play football, probably a lack of parking the bus, or tripling up and doubling up on players.”

There’s no coincidence away from the SPL’s hammer throwers, Rangers thrive and are doing so better than any side in the UK at this level.

But it was the next part which nailed on what we said about Kent definitively:

“It gives me more opportunities to do what I do.”

Because the SPL doesn’t.

Anyone who thinks Kent is inconsistent isn’t paying attention. Furthermore, despite the turgid low blocks, no one in the SPL aside recently-departed Martin Boyle has more successful dribbles than Kent, and he’s fifth for shots.

So if you think he’s inconsistent domestically, not only do you have absolutely no clue about football, you’re also plain wrong.

  1. Nae mud slinging every team canny hae great players , so it is only right that any and every team plays to it strenght , what ever that is ,,,, so lets stop looking for faults

  2. Too many of the so called SPFL only turn up against the Famous , its so visually and obviously true. So Kents spot on . The skill level amongst the hammers chuckers is zero, most are focused on physically kick and run shit. . That’s why the Rangers are the only team to advance the European coefficient.
