Rangers to get their way as SPFL cave on VAR
He's going to have assistance....

It appears, after all the hullaballoo in the media, after all the false starts, that Scottish football WILL have VAR next season after Don Robertson and John Beaton were confirmed as among those training for the technology’s introduction.

Speaking recently, Beaton especially suggested, much to Rangers’ approval, that it was ‘absolutely essential’ that VAR came in, and it does seem finally that with Scottish football authorities finally caving to common sense and training the men in the middle to use VAR that the implementation will take place for next season.

The reality is training the officials to use the procedures simply wouldn’t be getting done if the authorities weren’t finally serious about bringing it in, and while we’ve only been half a decade behind, for example, the Italians (who introduced VAR as far back as 2017), at least it is eventually happening.

The BBC, which couldn’t be more anti-Rangers if it tried, has itself recently been promoting the tech, and talking to officials who are indeed being trained with it and the inevitability of its introduction seems pretty absolute.

This nonsense doesn’t need to go to a vote, it just needs sorted.

Get it done.
