One thing to have gone slightly over most fans’ heads is that was Rangers’ first win over Aberdeen in all competitions since May last year.
The club’s record v the Dons in recent times reads two draws and a win, and it’s far from convincing.
And this is the worst Aberdeen side easily since being promoted.
SG could only draw, Gio could only draw then scrape a win.
We hate the negativity we’re coming out with today, and so we apologise in a sense for being grumpy, but we don’t apologise for saying what we think, which is that there’s two ways to spin yesterday.
1 is that that it was the latest terrible performance in a long line of them, and that it was the latest bad show v the Dons too, only just managing to stumble over the finishing line for once.
2 is better. It’s the notion we’ve broken a hoodoo, and won two matches in a row for the first time since Hearts then Hibs last month.
We need to build momentum, and getting 6 points out of 6 is the most you can get.
Would we take 8 horrible performances and wins till the summer?
Every day of the week. We’d win the title any way we can.
Doesn’t mean we won’t grumble about bad performances though – but we will always be happy winning.
It’s the Rangers Way.
