“No respect” – ex-Rangers man calls out Red Star

Former Rangers man Ricky Foster has been talking a lot of sense and alluding to the very topic Ibrox Noise covered earlier today: respect.

The well-travelled RB said this:

“Their (Stankovic) manager said beforehand that Rangers are really arrogant, trying to start the war of words and the psychological battle. Red Star came here and thought they’d outscore Rangers. They aren’t giving Rangers the respect they now deserve.”

And that’s exactly how we like it.

The more teams that smite us, disrespect us, dismiss us and show us no courtesy, the more satisfying it is to beat them and wipe their arrogance off their faces.

Pre-match we showed Red Star respect – we conceded we hadn’t done that with Praha last season and got rightly taken apart by them in the end.

This time we showed the opponent full respect, but no fear, and we went out there and walloped them.

But it’s not two-way is it? These sides are coming in with pure arrogance, including Borussia who said prior to both legs that they’d win, and Red Star did the same.

It’s being called out, rightly, and Rangers aren’t being shown respect.

We’ll live.
