A second Dortmund man has attempted a slightly disparaging comment towards Rangers, by suggesting anyone thinking it’s a ‘good time’ to face his club is making a ‘mistake’.

Dortmund’s recent record isn’t the best, with two losses in the last four, including a shock cup exit to minnows St Pauli of the Bundesliga 2, but attacker Marco Reus suggests Rangers are in for a big surprise if we believe we have a chance.

It’s just yet more soft arrogance from the WestfalenStadion giants, who yesterday described Alfredo Morelos as ‘little’, and gives Rangers further reason to put in as big a shift as we can to get a result in Germany on Thursday.

While there was some respect there too in the ‘big game against Rangers’ comment Reus further compounded the ‘self belief’ shall we call it by stating despite the recent results Dortmund are ‘still full of quality’ and that any confidence Rangers have is ‘a mistake’.

There is showing a certain level of assurance, but then there’s humility too, and Dortmund’s quotes the past while really don’t smack of any of that.

It’s not the first time recently an opposition group has talked down about Rangers or the upcoming fixture.

Just another one for the dressing room wall.
