Was Fashion Sakala’s goal a fluke? Others might disagree, but I don’t think so.
Yes, the camera shows him looking up before he shot.
And, yes there were a couple of Rangers players coming into the box.
But if you look at the video at the start of the 59th second, the camera angle shows both Rangers players were completely covered by the two back-tracking Annan players.
At that point Sakala then chose to put his head down, and he puts his laces through the ball, and with all that power it would have been impossible for anyone in the centre to have been anywhere near the ball, to try a diving heady.
He even took to social media to claim it as a 100% intended goal:
“I saw the goalkeeper it was a shot. Top corner.”
So, well done Fashion.
That was a legitimate goal, and it is a valid candidate for goal of the season, especially given how atrocious the weather was yesterday.
My gut feeling is this will not be the last time that Fashion does this type of shot.
Even if he has the cheekiest grin afterwards again like that one…

Naw naw, screamer! Candeais pulled off one a few year back, total fluke. That was class, struck far too hard to be considered a cross!
