Rangers are set to get a giant boost v Borussia Dortmund with the news Norway superstar Erling Haaland is extremely unlikely to make the first leg, with the second one also in doubt.

The megastar striker, still third in the scoring charts in Germany despite missing so many matches already this season with injury issues, had to miss the Westfalonstadion’s loss to Bayer and is a certain miss for Union Berlin this weekend.

Rangers, on Thursday, presents an extremely slim chance as well, which could mean Rangers will face a vulnerable Dortmund, there for the taking.

Two defeats in their last five is not a remarkable record, given one of them was to bottom-feeding Hertha Berlin, and so while Dortmund are never going to be a walkover, the lack of the former Salzburg hitman is a real fillip for Rangers and gives us a chance.

Of course, we have our own injury troubles too, with doubts over Ryan Jack, Leon Balogun and Filip Helander, but all in good time.
