Dortmund boss takes ‘little’ dig at Rangers’ Alfredo Morelos

Marco Rose has slightly dug at Alfredo Morelos by referring to el-bufalo as a ‘little’ striker.

The no-nonsense hitman, 25, was named alongside Ryan Kent as a threat the German giants were aware of, but their manager didn’t seem to address him with the level of respect he probably deserves.

He said:

“And they have a little striker up front, Alfredo Morelos, who works hard, fights and knows where the goal is.”

It’s at best a ‘backhanded’ compliment, because if there is one thing Morelos isn’t it’s little. Sure, he’s not Eden Dzeko levels of colossi up front, but he’s not a wee guy. Jason Holt he isn’t, bless the former Ranger.

No, Morelos is called el-bufalo for a reason, and not just his occasional haircuts – he’s big, powerful, quick and as Rose does rightly add, knows where the onion bag is.

It’s not anything like the digs Robbie Neilson misguided hurled at the club recently, but it’s enough to add a little bit of bite.

Yes, a ‘little’ bit of bite.

Game on.
