Apparently some Celtic player got ideas above his station yesterday and actually outright claimed the title.
He didn’t just say he hoped, he stated they’ll win.
We are extremely pleased to hear this, incredibly pleased, because if ever our players needed a little lift, an incentive to ram that straight back down his and his team mates’ throats, it’s now.
We do have a mixed bag from opposition taunts. Stavros said something which smeared us prior to the Old Firm, and yes, they did win on a seriously off half from Rangers. But then Neilson made some disparaging comments about Rangers and Souttar and we certainly clobbered them, before a bunch of condescending jibes from Dortmund saw them too suffer the consequences.
But to actually state they’ll win the title is some of the most presumptuous tot we’ve ever heard, some of the most disrespectful garbage we can remember.
I can’t ever recall a Rangers player assuming the title – the last time any Rangers man made such a claim we were 20 points ahead and very, very close to it anyway, and even then he’d been reluctant to go there.
But they have a 3 point lead. THREE.
And they’re already bringing out the champagne.
Good, let them think that.
Because nothing will fuel our players more than their biggest rivals dismissing them for the title.
