Three in, one out as deadline day hots up at Ibrox…

It’s been a breathtaking day at Ibrox, and Ibrox Noise will do our utmost to round up all the crazy from Govan in one digestible update…

Of course, the headline is Juventus’ Aaron Ramsey, the Wales superstar, out of favour in Turin, is putting the finishing touches to a loan deal to ply his trade in Glasgow, at least till the summer.

There will be an option to buy in there too, around £4M, although how Rangers will afford those full wages once the loan is over we’re not sure. He’s reported to be Juve’s highest earner at an eye-watering £400,000 a week, and the Bianconeri will be footing most of the wage bill till the summer.

He’s a replacement for Ianis Hagi, playing in much the same advanced CM position as the Romanian, and if we’re honest he’s in a different league to the ex-Genk star. But there are questions over his wage, and fitness, and we’ll see how this Hollywood signing turns out.

Then back to planet earth we have Brandon Barker, in talks with Hibs to move back to Easter Road. Hopefully that one goes through ASAP and we can move on from a truly terrible signing.

Over in Poland we’re trying to replace Nathan Patterson with Lechia Gdansk’s Mateusz Żukowski, a 21-year old RB/RW who will provide competition for James Tavernier. He’s an U21 international for his nation and we’ll see if we can get that one over the line before tonight.

And last but not least John Souttar – it’s still up in the air and we’re pushing it to the limit to see if we can get Hearts to sway. It’s anyone’s guess if that one will happen before the deadline.

The Danilho Doekhi trail has gone cold for now.

That’s the lot for the moment.

  1. Ramsay is stellar , he’s top drawer good opportunity to show his fitness . I looked at the young Polish RB he looks good Barker Simpson and perhaps Lundstram might head out. Good work Ross Wilson where are all the doubters now. WATP

  2. Barker worst Rangers player ever have no idea why he was ever signed. Good to get him off the books. Ramsay is a class act and must play from the start on Wednesday

  3. Wednesday might be a bit soon for him as he hasn’t played for months. I’m certain he’ll play but if we continue to play with our 4-2-3-1 formation it’s difficult to see where he will play. Surely his attacking instincts will rule out the defensive midfield 2 and I cant see him replacing Joe Aribo in the middle of the attacking 3 while the other 2 positions in the 3 are the wide positions covered by Diallo and Kent. Interesting.
