Souttar to Rangers story takes new twist as press argue among themselves

After English press claimed (yes, English press, not us) John Souttar has chosen the Championship, the DR has now claimed the opposite, that he would prefer Rangers.

We’re not sure how seriously we can take either of these reports, but the one from down south was from a different group entirely to the DR’s Mirror group.

And we know the DR are dodgy at best and outright liars who hate Rangers at worst so we’re not exactly reassured them saying this is the best news.

We’ve seen claims online smearing our own report into Souttar, and indeed smearing us as not being Rangers fans (we are) or being ‘the Scottish Sun of fan media’ (backhanded compliment?) as a result of said report, albeit we should add the story in question that we published only quoted from English press (Sheffield Star) and we were pretty clear about that. But since when did facts matter online…

And as for Souttar, press down south say he prefers a move to improve himself, like his brother, where reports up here allege he has chose Rangers.

But then, with the DR, even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

As for fans, they seem fairly split on Souttar – not a target that blows many of you away, but for the right price/wage he’d be welcome as a squad man.

We’d imagine he’d be signed for more than just squad though.
