Colombia have omitted Alfredo Morelos for this weekend’s friendly with Honduras for now after Reinaldo Rueda named his 20-man squad to face their fellow South Americans.

The match on Sunday in Fort Lauderdale is just a warm up and Morelos’ absence is not the only strong name left out, with most of the big hitters AWOL for this one.

It means Morelos will be fully available on Tuesday to face Aberdeen in a bit of a boost for Giovanni van Bronckhorst to have his first-choice striker at his disposal for a tough away fixture.

It doesn’t, however, mean Morelos will be available come the end of the month, with the world cup double header v Peru and Argentina looming, and Rangers’ star man is likely to get the international call for that one meaning he will miss the crucial Old Firm on the 2nd of next month.

Which is, of course, a blow.

But he might not get the nod, we’ll see.

But he is definitely available for Tuesday as things stand and that’s a nice bonus.
