Rangers have been handed a boost almost as good as a new signing with the return of Joe Aribo after Nigeria’s exit from the AFCON.

The Super Eagles went out after a bit of a controversial night, but honestly, we’re not interested – we just want our Joe home, safe and sound, and ready to hit Celtic and everyone else where it hurts.

Rangers have desperately missed his power, guile, intelligence, dribbling, pace and presence in the apex of midfield, with Ianis Hagi failing to fill in with any real conviction, and the return of our star playmaker and the best player in the SPFL these days is a huge fillip for the Famous as we go into the February period.

As we’ve seen, Rangers have once again restarted from new year a little slowly, with two performances not quite what they need to be as we hit 2022 in earnest, but Aribo’s return is a big deal and will help restore morale and confidence and give the team the focal point in attack we’ve desperately missed.

We do of course hope no sides scouted him out in Cameroon because they’ll have been impressed by what they saw – he is likely to leave at some point, but we hope it’s not any time soon, because he’s got more tims to skelp.

Welcome home Joe.
