Southampton fans believe they’re signing Joe Aribo but their conviction they’ll get him for £9M is comical and so wide of the mark it’s not even funny.

The supporters at St Mary’s made a transfer rumour video about him extolling his virtues, but if the Saints, or anyone else, hopes to secure arguably Rangers’ most coveted asset at this time, they’re looking at a transfer fee at least 3 times that number.

The sale of Nathan Patterson changed the rules, and finally starting invoking the true value of Rangers’ players at long last, and Aribo is going absolutely nowhere unless a number at least double the value submitted for Scotland’s RB arrives.

If Rangers only sold their second choice RB for £16M, then it’s evident the most prized asset at the club these days is going to be valued considerably in excess of that.

Aribo enjoyed a sizzling start to the AFCON and it’s only raised his profile even further, and now serious PL sides are sniffing around him once more, it is surely only a matter of time till major bids arrive.

But if they’re not clear of £30M, Rangers won’t be selling.

The first £35M sale? Quite possibly.

  1. I’ve said before, if any of our players are only worth £8-9m then they aren’t good enough for the Premiership. Aribo should be an absolute no go until the summer.
