We’re taking this one with a slight pinch of salt, because the source isn’t one we’re familiar with or trust, but freelance journalist Pete O’Rourke has claimed Rangers are actively working on a deal for Andreas Skov Olsen and that Ross Wilson and GVB have been tracking the winger for some considerable time.

The story linking us with the Danish star has been around for at least a year, and began during SG’s tenure, but it hasn’t abated with the new boss and with this being a player Rangers are said to have been tracking, Gio has clearly been alerted to him and is interested.

Reports yesterday claimed ASO’s preference was for Belgian side Brugge, and there were further claims this was to be a loan, but given Bologna want to raise funds for their pursuit of Aberdeen’s Calvin Ramsey, it seems unlikely to be true.

Because the Dane remains in Italy, it’s evident the immediate reports of some days ago that he was to sign permanently for Brugge were false, and there’s been no movement in that direction.

Which, according to O’Rourke, could see Rangers secure him after all.

This one is quite the saga.
