Gio hints at Souttar early arrival at Ibrox
He must impro

Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has hinted there is a possibility John Souttar could arrive at Ibrox this window, by failing to completely rule out the chances.

Speaking at his pre-Albion presser, Rangers’ boss was asked for his hopes over Souttar’s arrival being earlier than the summer, and his response was typically wary and cautious, but did gently suggest it may happen.

He said:

“John is a Rangers player from next season, and that didn’t change in the last weeks, so for this moment he won’t be joining us.”

We can interpret ‘for this moment’ as being either ‘this window’ or ‘as things stand’. But if it was ‘this window’ surely Gio would have said that?

Furthermore, he went on with an even bigger hint:

“But the window is still open for eleven days so anything can happen.”

Gio appeared cautious about Souttar – cards close to his chest as he always is, careful with his wording, but just giving enough that there is a subtle possibility a deal could still be done to bring the Hearts man to Ibrox before February.

As with it all, we shall see.
