Rangers fans will be delighted to see every single long-term injured player back on the training field as Kemar Roofe, Leon Balogun, Ryan Jack and Filip Helander all reported for duty to resume work on the pitch.

It’s a delightful sight to see all these stormtroopers coming back, restoring to fitness, because as we go deep into January and February, we’re going to need to call on all our depth in squad to account for potentially new injuries and suspensions.

And seeing the quartet fit and healthy was a gloriously welcome boost.

True, they’re not match fit, any of them, and will not feature v Aberdeen tomorrow, but there’s a slim possibility one or two may make the squad for Friday, in what should really be a formality of a result at Fortress Ibrox.

And that’s just fantastic for fans who had given up on Ryan Jack for a start – sure, we don’t know his exact status or ETA, but just seeing him involved again and kicking the ball in anger was a real boost to the support.

The only three absent from training ground activity of Rangers’ entire available squad were long-term health issue Nnamdi Ofoborh, and recent injuries Steven Davis and Scott Arfield.

While Gio won’t have a full squad come tomorrow night, he can be delighted to see so many inching towards a return.

Excellent.

  1. Excellent news, especially Ryan Jack . Let’s hope they are ready for some part soon. We need to be right at it tonight as the SS will be trying their damdest as it’s the Light Blues. Let’s hope they don’t maime our players as they always try to. Another insipid display by the opposition against the rotten mob again last night. We will have to win 56 the hard way . WATP
