Filip Helander update as Rangers man returns from injury
Still a little bit away it appears...

Filip Helander’s present prognosis remains a little up in the air after he was omitted from the list of returning players likely to feature in the coming matches.

Helander, out for several months now, has been sorely missed for his direct defending and strong mentality, but Rangers have managed to cover for him as well as possible with a combination of Leon Balogun and, under Gio, Calvin Bassey.

But his absence from the list of players imminently coming back suggests Rangers fans might have to wait a little longer to see him again.

The Swede has very much returned to training but is of course an absolute mile off match fitness, and will require, it seems, several weeks to be ready for game time, meaning he is unlikely, as Ibrox Noise reported, to appear this month.

Of course there is still a chance, but unless the ex-Bologna man responds brilliantly to work on the training ground and gets ahead of schedule, we can probably rule him out for the time being.

Which is a pity, but rather get him back when he’s firmly ready and won’t have any more issues than to rush the man.

We’ll see him soon.
