Latest season

The team had an absolutely fantastic 2020/2021 season. The club won Group D of the Europa League with 14 points in what was considered to be a tough group with the likes of Benfica, Standard, and Lech Poznan. The club struggled in the last 16 v Prague but the group stage was unforgettable.

Rangers redeemed themselves with an amazing performance in the Scottish Premiership. The team won the league after completely dominating it with 102 points at the end of the season. With 38 games played in the season, the team recorded 33 victories,5 draws, and no losses! Celtic were left behind in the 2nd position with 25 points difference! Something that the fans undoubtedly loved!

This season so far

Celtic were not happy with last season and still struggling this and the difference in the Scottish Premiership right now is a solid 6 points with Rangers flying high. Rangers achieved 48 points in 19 games, which is 15 victories, 3 draws, and only 1 loss. It’s important to mention that Rangers managed to defeat the big rivals with a narrow 1:0 victory that surely brought smiles to the faces of the fans.

The team is showing wonderful football so far and perhaps the only loss in the Premiership could be considered unlucky. Dundee United won with a narrow 1:0 victory with a lovely strike by Jamie Robson but the truth is that even in that game Rangers were the superior team.

What is up ahead

The Scottish Premiership matches on Boxing Day will go ahead as scheduled in front of only 500 fans but the league has postponed the games on December 29 and January 2/3 to bring forward the winter break. Rangers fans were eager to see their favourite team achieve a second victory against Celtic this season but sadly the game was rescheduled for the 2nd of February 2022 at 7:45 PM.

Rangers will have to deal with some injury and suspension issues ahead of this game and hopefully, the break will indeed be used wisely by the staff. Players like Kemar Roofe, Nnamdi Ofoborh, Filip Helander, and Leon Balogun will all need to be rested and coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst will have to find the right ingredients towards further success in the Scottish Premiership in 2022.
