Shock media reaction as Rangers go 9 unbeaten under Gio

There has been a notable shift in the past week or two, with regards Rangers’ key players.

Joe Aribo, Nathan Patterson, Glen Kamara, Borna Barisic, Alfredo Morelos, Ianis Hagi and Ryan Kent to name just seven major Rangers players had all been prolifically linked out for big-money moves to all sorts of clubs all over the world, and especially to the PL.

However the past week has seen a significant alteration, with a lot less content plugging our players for exits, and far more in the media, of all places, about praise over how well the likes of Morelos and Aribo are playing.

Instead of bigging these guys up for a move, they’re being promoted as key assets to the club’s pursuit of 56, and being invaluable to the cause.

And the reason for this?

Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Ever since the new manager arrived and revolutionised the system and accrued a trail of excellent results, more and more promotion of our players’ attributes and in cases turnarounds in form has been seen and less about how many clubs want to buy them.

Let’s be clear, Southampton DO want Joe Aribo and Everton are most certainly interested in young Patterson, but thanks to the outstanding results under our Dutch maestro, the media has been about how good we are, how good Gio is, and how well the players are doing.

Let’s also be clear – we do need to sell maybe one major player to get the financial situation a bit nicer, and it’s high time we sold for big money.

But it’s nice our players are being praised and not pawned for once.
