Rangers may be forced into ‘game in hand’ territory after this weekend’s fixture with Dundee United was plunged into doubt over a potential outbreak of Covid at Tannadice.
At least two players are confirmed positives and with the new variant spreading around like wildfire, not just Saturday’s match is in doubt, with football throughout Europe returning slowly to lockdown echoes with closed-door matches and sporadic outbreaks.
Which would leave Rangers and a potential backlog of at least one match should Saturday’s tricky league match be postponed.
We recall Celtic endured this during the Covid season, with a glut of matches in hand (not that they helped them) and spare points to win as they started to trail the Famous, and frankly we could do without it ourselves.
But it is what it is, and we’ll see if the match is called off. It’s currently 50/50.
Unfortunately, if history is anything to go by, chances are it will be postponed, and First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has threatened closed-doors again.
But we’ll see how it unfolds over the next day or so.
Agreed lads, its all lies lies and more lies. They say thts a conspiracy but it cant be tht bad wheb the politicians are hosting partys and quizzes lol so why cant we go to the football. Its not a conspiracy its facts and a valid question. I’m not saying Covids fake, but its highly exagerated.
(in my opinion)
So what have those 170,000 people in the UK died of? Parties were clearly wrong but are becoming a distraction. The fact is in the current climate it’s madness shove 50,000 fans into Ibrox (or 42,000 “full house” at Parkhead). Should hospitalisations and deaths start to rise these large events will be curtailed. That’s not political it’s just common sense. But worse case scenario if we remain 4 points ahead we will be declared Champions. That’s how it works. Right?
Drivel from the dark side.
