Rangers’ youth striker Rory Wilson, such a standout for the U18s at just 15, is reportedly to sign a deal with the club, making it the highest-paid first contract in the club’s history.
The hitman, who has been freescoring in recent times, has even featured in Europe for the club at youth level, and has courted attention from such illustrious rivals as Man Utd, City and Bayern, and it appears Rangers are biting the bullet and rewarding the young man for his form.
As the best paid first pro contract in Rangers’ history, it’s clear the esteem the club hold Wilson in, and he’s being viewed as something special.
If his development continues, he is in with a shout of breaching the senior squad before too long, and that really would set the cat among the pigeons.
As GVB has said, if they’re good enough they’re old enough, and if Wilson is believed to be good enough for the full team, he will get his chance.
He’s certainly making strides where he is.
