Rangers now know the sides they could face in the next stage of the Europa League, and the ties are mouthwatering, especially a collision course with La Liga giants Barcelona.

Leipzig, Porto, Dortmund and Sevilla are also among those who could be on their way to Ibrox, but it’s the Catalonian colossi whetting the appetite most with the potential for a stunning European night in Govan against Xavi and his charges.

Rangers of course face Lyon in a dead rubber on Thursday night with both sides’ place in the next stage assured, but the prize regardless of the result could see the Camp Nou side return to Ibrox for the first time since 2007.

Of course, it all depends on the luck of the draw, and who gets who, but even if not Barca, Rangers will face a massive side in the next round and a result against that side will go down as one of the great Rangers European performances.

We’ll see come the draw who we get.
