Rangers appear to be closing in on GVB’s first player signing of January as Vitesse star Danilho Doekhi’s arrival at Ibrox grows ever closer.

The 23 year old stopper, who’s been tracked by Rangers scouts for at least 6 months, is out of contract in the summer and free to talk to clubs next month, with the Famous being in pole position to secure his signature certainly for next season if not next calendar year.

The former Excelsior man, who was named captain of his club back in August in an attempt to keep him there a little longer, confirmed last summer his genuine interest in coming to Rangers, citing that ‘serious’ interest from Rangers is something he would himself take just as seriously.

Rangers of course have a new manager, one Doekhi will know even better than the ex-boss, with Gio being a Dutch legend and highly respected throughout the Oranje lands, so that gives us an even stronger hand when it comes to picking the coveted defender up.

By January hopefully we’ll have our answer.
