ITK Nigerian source: Aribo to quit Rangers for England

According to allnigeriasoccer.com, which in truth has been accurate on Rangers’ Nigerian players before, Rangers star Joe Aribo has made it clear he intends to see his contract out or leave before the end of it, and will not be signing an extension to take his stay beyond 2023.

If these reports are true, and as we say, ANS are a pretty strong source for Nigerian players, Rangers unfortunately need to cash in, and the player is said to have aspirations to return to England with Brentford, Watford and Palace among those seeking his services.

The 25 year old has been outstanding for Rangers this season, but it’s caught a lot of southern eyes, and it appears, for now, if these reports are true, that not even winning 56 and securing CL is enough.

Of course, it would still take him up to 2023, and into Rangers’ potential CL campaign next year, but the playmaker is reported to have had negative preliminary discussions with the club, in what will be a very disappointing chain of events for new manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

We hope he changes his mind, if this new information is true.

  1. I reckon Rangers will cash in on him in the summer.

We simply can’t match the salary he is likely to get down South, and fair play to the lad, for having the ambition and ability to play at a higher level.

Sadly, I think Ryan Kent could also be following him out of Ibrox at the same time.
