GVB hints at major omission as Parkhead looms for Rangers
He's not afraid to drop big names....

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has confirmed he may rest Joe Aribo for today’s visit of Dundee United after it was confirmed the Nigerian is one yellow away from a suspension and Rangers don’t want to lose him for the trip to Parkhead.

Aribo, who is Rangers’ standout performer this season, has been on fire in recent matches, but has sadly picked up the near-threshold for bookings, and one more will see him absent from the trip east.

So after the fuss made about securing the Nigerian three for the match v Celtic, it would be a ridiculous irony to lose him for that match on disciplinarian grounds.

Hence Gio may make the decision to leave Aribo out of this one completely.

In truth, Rangers should have more than enough to cover it – Kent, Sakala, Hagi, Wright, and plenty of others can occupy the midfield attack 3 just fine, and should have plenty to dispatch Utd, especially given the latter’s selection issues.

But you never want to be without your best players, and Aribo is Rangers’ best right now.

Here’s hoping we don’t need him on any level.
