After 24 months of will they won’t he on Bologna’s Andreas Skov Olsen, information today has suggested Giovanni van Bronckhorst is interested in the Denmark winger, and the Dane himself is keen on the move.

Skov Olsen, 21, is widely-regarded as a rising star of Danish (and Italian) football but hasn’t ever fit into Bologna boss Siniša Mihajlović’s system and the Bosnian manager has reduced the right winger to nothing more than a bit-part role, as he did Sweden’s Filip Helander who of course made the move to Ibrox as a result.

Skov Olsen has been a link-term link for Rangers – and with the former manager now departed, the route could be clear for Rangers to make the signing many fans have been keen on for some time.

While Skov Olsen has a market value of around £6M+, Rangers could get him for a lot less given his fringe nature at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, and word is the right flanker, who we must say is a considerably superior player to Anderlecht’s Francis Amuzu, really would be the absolute quintessential pure right wing solution to a problem position for Rangers.

We’ll see if Rangers can do a deal for him in January.
