The key questions on most Rangers fans lips now are twofold – who takes over from our former manager, but even more key – how many of our players are now vulnerable to departure in January to join Gerrard at his new team?

We can safely say three players are absolute prime candidates to sign up at Villa – Glen Kamara, Ryan Kent, and Alfredo Morelos.

We’ll start with Kamara:

He’s terrible now. His heart hasn’t been at Ibrox for well over a year, and he downed tools here just like he did at Dundee. It’s time for him to move on and we can guarantee he’s ripe for Villa’s plucking now.

Ryan Kent is more intriguing. He’s never made any overtures about leaving, never downed tools – but his circumstances are difficult because his other half now lives down south. He would be happy to move to the PL and to be nearer her. But he’s never disrespected this club so if he did decide to make the move south, we’d respect it.

There is of course the Alfredo Morelos stuff. He could finally get his dream ticket to the PL, and Villa have been credited with interest for a long time – would Steven (you can absolutely **** off with that ‘Stevie’ stuff now) Gerrard want to take Morelos in the PL?

In terms of ‘honourable’ mentions, Borna Barisic may be casting an eye south too now, while Filip Helander could also be of interest to the boss. We know Goldson will be.

Anyway, it’s all happening and we’ll keep you updated with our thoughts, info, and rambles.

  1. Both Kent and Morelos have a year and half left on contracts but Kamara has just signed a long-term deal. All these players know what they can go for as will SG. I recon you’re looking at each agreement being between 15-20million a player. That sort of level of investment being made available won’t be a bad parting gift for the new manager. Also, should any of them go and thrive down south you’ll see the values of our players rising again to what they should be going forward.

  2. With Gerrard off to Villa which seems to pastures new which seemed to have caught out many by surprise. Regarding the players I can see the obvious old manager coming back for people he trusts. Having watched Kamara at Southend develop into a brilliant player and man I wouldn’t be surprised if a bid came in. Kent I don’t believe would be interested in Villa and Alife who was questioned by Gerrard about where he wants to be is still at Rangers so I don’t think he’d go. I would look at Hagi and probably Kamara and a defensive player.

  3. I could see Kamara and definitely Kent but no chance on Morelos. Gerrard has at best humoured Morelos because he had no viable alternative. He sees a player in there somewhere based on his 2019 form but that has long gone and will probably never come back.
To be honest while Gerrard May have a decent respect for the players at Rangers he would be looking for better to succeed at Villa. Kent may be an exception that he could probably get for £12-15m which is peanuts in EPL terms.
