Stevie G provides new potential date for Jack return
GLASGOW, SCOTLAND - FEBRUARY 21: Ryan Jack of Rangers leaves the pitch after suffering an injury during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and Dundee United at Ibrox Stadium on February 21, 2021 in Glasgow, Scotland. Steven Gerrard has slightly played down Ryan Jack return hopes by admitting the international break is critical for him, and Rangers will try to get a bounce game for him to get some minutes in.

After all the hype over the Scotland star’s potentially imminent return, Gerrard has today tempered that a little by effectively admitting it might be close to December before Jack is back in action.

He said:

“Ryan Jack is training away. He’ll have an outside chance of being involved at the weekend depending on how this (Brondby) game goes but Ryan’s been back in full training for a couple of weeks now.”

This all sounds wonderfully promising, but then comes the catch:

“I think the international break is super important for Ryan in terms of getting a load of work in big spaces in his legs and maybe trying to get a game behind closed doors for him for some minutes under his belt because he’s obviously been out for a long time.”

It’s not a massive catch, but it’s still a fragile time and if Jacko comes through the next three weeks unscathed then there’s a strong chance we could see him significantly throughout December.

It’s still tentative though.

Haste ye back.
