Sakala and Arfield start – predicted Gers to face Brondby
GLASGOW, SCOTLAND - APRIL 18: Steven Davis of Rangers celebrates with teammate Scott Arfield after scoring his team's first goal during the Scottish Cup game between Rangers and Celtic at Ibrox Stadium on April 18, 2021 in Glasgow, Scotland. Tonight’s trip to Denmark isn’t quite do or die, but it’s close. With 3 points amassed thanks to the comfortable win at Ibrox in the ‘first leg’, Rangers have an excellent platform to convert that into 6 with 2 games remaining.

Those 6 points would put us in the real mix for a last 32 place, and failure to secure more than a draw probably puts us in Conference League territory.

What team will Stevie pick to try to lure the maximum return from Brondby?

Clearly he’s going to go with McGregor, but few have objected to our observations that Greegsy is far from his best now.

In defence, it’s already confirmed. Tavernier, Goldson, Balogun and Bassey. Injury et al dictates that.

Midfield should see Lundstram start in Glen Kamara’s likely absence, while Steven Davis will probably feature too, and Scotty Arfield will make up the numbers.

Up top? Aribo, Sakala and Morelos.

Gerrard won’t want to disrupt the Motherwell team much, and will try to stick as close to it as he can.

Kent is unlikely to be fit for this one, but could be on the bench. And Hagi has lost a bit of an edge lately while Sakala is man of the moment and surely will start.

So your Ibrox Noise XI:

McGregor; Tavernier, Goldson, Balogun, Bassey; Davis, Lundstram, Arfield; Aribo, Sakala, Morelos

It’s not actually that bad is it?
