Rangers ‘strike’ major new balance with announcement

If you haven’t heard, former Dutch striker Roy Makaay will be joining new manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst at Ibrox.

This means Rangers now have two world class strikers to coach our front line. When has that ever happened before?

If that doesn’t get you excited, then there is the added bonus that our new manager likes to get bodies in the penalty box.

This suggests van Bronckhorst will not revert to his Feyenoord tactics of just passing the ball to the wing, and hoping to score from a cross.

It’s hard to believe it, but this just feels like a major upgrade. Yeah we all thought Gerrard was fantastic, but we all know it was really Michael Beale who was the mastermind, and even Beale’s tactics grew stale after a while.

And van Bronckhorst is a midfielder-cum defender. So, expect some changes to be made there too.

Yep it was only one week ago we woke up to our manager doing a runner.

Today we are now in the position that we might be able to turn things around and still finish second in Europe?

Welcome home Giovanni.
