Rangers hit with two-man blow for Livi

Rangers will have to continue life under GVB without both Kemar Roofe and Leon Balogun after both missed Prague with injury.

Balogun’s absence was barely felt as Calvin Bassey put in the CB performance of his life to cover the deficit beautifully, while the front three worked hard enough that the Jamaican international’s void made little difference.

But nevertheless the manager would want to have all his players at his disposal.

Right now Rangers are down to just one viable senior defender in Connor Goldson, albeit technically there’s Jack Simpson as well…

But with Bassey’s excellent shift v the Czechs, we doubt it’ll be too much of an issue.

As for Roofe, well Ianis Hagi had a solid night on Thursday too, and Rangers don’t lack for attacking options, but it’s a big miss anyway, given the ex-Leeds man’s workrate.

But hopefully we will survive those absences regardless.

We should, shouldn’t we?

  1. Livi will raise their game against us , they always do as does the rest of the SPFL . It will be interesting to watch GVB deal with Livis 11 behind the ball tactics and the bloody awful cold plastic pitch that does physiological and physical damage to our players as we know. Let’s hope Thursday is a catalyst to move us forward.

  2. Should cope comfortably without them but CB situation needs to be addressed and I’d like to see Roofe stay injury free and get a good run in the team. His all round contribution is so much more than Morelos and I think he’d score more goals.
