It is 100% time to bring back Nikola Katic, who ex-boss Steven Gerrard, it must be said, treated absolutely terribly from the moment he signed.

The big Croat was young when he came to Ibrox, but in season one was turfed out while in form in favour of Joe Worrall, season two while in better form to Filip Helander then of course missed season three through injury. Then got dumped to Split.

The ex-manager made a load of nonsense about how he needed minutes so had to go on loan, but now that we’re away from him, it’s time to recall Katic and make him a permanent part of this Rangers team.

Niko Katic wants to play for Rangers, and he loves the Rangers. He’s become a regular at Split and there’s a recall clause in January.

We want players who want to be at this club, not guys like Goldson who got an easy ride and immunity.

Katic thunders through brick walls for Rangers, always did and always will, and him alongside Filip Helander would be such a brilliant backline for this club.

Yes, we’re speaking very passionately today, and yes, a lot of it is from the heart in reaction to the confirmation of the ex-manager’s departure, but that is what football is:

10% rational thinking, and 90% emotion.

Which is exactly the kind of passion missing from our club thanks to the outgone manager – this season has been lifeless, despite being top of the table.

Bring back Katic, ‘Free Katic’ as they like to say on Twitter.

That would be a lovely boost for fans.
