With the potential arrival of Giovanni Van Bronckhorst, Rangers might have a major head start in a renewed attempt at signing Heerenveen’s Joey Veerman.
Of course, we know the accounts are not good, and he’s under contract for another three years with a market value of €10M, but next summer, with a bit of luck and hard graft, we will have 56 and CL group participation to look forward to, and a Dutch star like Veerman has been on Rangers’ radar for a very long time.
A pure Barry Ferguson type, we all know what he would bring, and he absolutely 100% wants to leave his current side, and has mentioned Rangers vividly.
If a Dutchman was attracted to Rangers because of Steven Gerrard, how would a Dutch Master Legend like Gio appeal to him?
Obviously money is a big issue, and Rangers have none of it right now, so we simply can’t afford him as things stand, but in the summer, it’s surely a goer, especially if we do secure Gio.
