Rangers’ success over the last few years has in many ways been thanks to a successful recruitment process, particularly since Steven Gerrard has been at the helm.

Very few signings have failed at Ibrox Stadium under the Gers boss. The club have clearly got a great scouting network in place and hopefully, they will continue to benefit from that going forward.

Fashion Sakala is a Great Example of Shrewd Business

Very few outside of Belgium had heard of striker Fashion Sakala prior to this summer. The Zambia international signed on a free transfer back in July after his contract expired with Oostende. The 24-year-old made an impressive start to his career in Scotland, scoring four goals from his opening eight games in the league.

Sakala’s arrival has been a big boost to Gerrard as Alfredo Morelos is having a quiet patch at the moment by his high standards. The competition for places should help Rangers this season as they look to defend their title. They are odds-on at 4/9 in Scottish Premier League outright betting on Bet365 as they comfortably look like the strongest team in the league. Those looking to back Rangers can use these odds alongside a bet365 bonus code which can land you up to £100 in bet credits, although this is only for new customers.

If Sakala continues to shine in Scotland, his goals will hopefully be enough to see Rangers have another successful campaign. He is an early contender to be the Scottish Player of the season.

Morelos and Hagi Have Been Excellent Additions

Rangers have identified players who not only have been able to have a lot of success in the Scottish Premiership, but also excite the fans. Morelos and Ianis Hagi are two players who have done exactly that. Morelos signed for an undisclosed fee which was reportedly in the region of £1 million. That has been money well spent as he has scored over 100 goals for Rangers now in just over 200 appearances. Hagi is in his third season with the Gers now. He initially joined on loan but a permanent deal was agreed pretty quickly with Genk for his services. The 23-year-old is an excellent playmaker and should continue to develop under the eye of Gerrard.

The Rangers boss has acquired some players from the English football league who have added experience to the team. John Lundstram played a lot of football in the Premier League for Sheffield United and looks a great addition from the summer. Juninho Bacuna has also done well since he arrived from Huddersfield.

January is another chance for Rangers to add to their squad and going off their recent record, we could see some excellent signings in the upcoming window.
