The first formal ‘Rangers player to Villa’ story has begun with Ibrox Noise’s prime candidate for a move, Glen Kamara, being concretely linked with a January move to SG’s new team, in a story which is about as surprising as a sunrise.

Kamara, valued around £15M by the board, has been seeking a move to the PL for some time, with notably decreased club performances this past year.

His displays at the Euros, which were world class by any stretch of the imagination, stood out as possible evidence he was done at Ibrox, with unimpressive performances in the Spring and Autumn for club, sandwiching those brilliant shows for Finland.

He signed a new deal after much deliberation, but there’s a release clause in there, believed to be around that £15M mark, and the ex-Dundee man certainly seeks a move to the PL.

Villa would be perfect for him, and it would be perfect for Rangers too.

Glen Kamara is a player who served us brilliantly till this year, and now he can leave for Birmingham with our blessing. And a nice profit.

More as it develops.

  1. Gerrard leaving our club is the happiest I’ve been since winning 55 and if Kamara follows him it will make my life complete, bring it on !!!

  2. Kamara was a steal at the £50k we paid and of course we’d have had him for nothing by waiting a few more months. His performances definitely elevated the midfield working alongside Jack and Davis but for whatever reason his consistency has been poor more often than not during the last 12 months. An outstanding Euros showed us he was maybe holding back but what we have seen this season is a player who can flirt between MOTM levels and be almost completely anonymous. If he was playing for another club I certainly wouldn’t be interested in signing him even for £5m so if Villa want to activate his release clause then we are getting the sale of the century for what he has cost us. Maybe a new manager will get something more out of him and he can be the dominant force for us for years but I highly doubt he’ll be around much longer.
