Do Rangers have a new hero? That’s the question so many fans are asking after Fashion Sakala’s colossal afternoon yesterday in which the hat-trick hero stole the show and is now the toast of fans.

With Alfredo Morelos’ continuing middling form, the door has been open for a new strike star to step up, and the Zambian international, inspired by his wonder goal for his nation v Ecuadorian Guinea recently, found another three finishes for his club.

The infectious smile from the ex-Oostende man has lit up the papers, lit up the club, and it has to be said following a difficult week for all connected with Rangers, his massive grin and joyful attitude has been the perfect antidote.

The stage was definitely there for an injection of sunshine, and Fashion Sakala is easily the happiest player we’ve seen at Ibrox for years.

Oh, and he can play a bit.

Don’t let the grin fool you – this kid has talent, and it looks like fans are seeing that now.

For weeks we at Ibrox Noise have been preaching giving him more of a chance – a lot of readers disagreed and didn’t think the lad had anything to him.

We do believe yesterday shut a lot of people up!

Does this now mean ‘Alfredo who’? No, not quite yet – Morelos has shown his quality in glimpses, and isn’t a busted flush just yet.

But Sakala has taken his chance, oh how he’s taken his chance, and now the Zambian is going to be considered more and more as a first-team starter.

Even his country’s president tweeted him with a congratulations – that’s how big he is in his homeland.

You can certainly regard Ibrox Noise as dedicated followers of Fashion (we had to!).
