It has emerged today, shockingly, that Steven Gerrard has selected a variety of 12 different front three combinations in a worrying indication of suspensions, injuries and sheer indecision from the manager where nothing seems settled for the best.
Speaking during his pre-Hibs conference, the manager addressed the usual array of issues (which we’ll cover today) but it was put to him that he’s selected that many groups of three at the top.
His response was ‘expect sequence 16’.
Yes, that’s right, a frustrated-looking Gerrard could only offer absolutely no answers and seemed to think the question detailed 15 rather than 12 in a confused answer which put the blame on Ryan Kent’s injury.
Gerrard doesn’t look happy, Rangers don’t look settled, and the form is clinging on domestically for dear life, but nothing sums up how unsettled this side is more than 12 different combos up front in a grand total of 14 matches.
Worrying times.
