Gary Mac has calmed a few Rangers’ fans heckles over Nathan Patterson by confirming the RB hasn’t been ‘dropped’ by Stevie G, but has been nursing an ankle injury picked up on international duty.

The rising star of Scottish football has been a revelation the past few months and looks close to making it into the first team, but his absence from the squad the past couple of matches inspired some paranoia that he’d been completely ditched.

McAllister confirmed that’s not the case:

“The positive would be Nathan – he has been nursing that little ankle since being away with the national team, I think he picked it up against Moldova. He trained and looked sharp this morning, and will come into contention with a few others.”

So Patterson will almost certainly start this one, as a cup match, because the management know they can’t keep him on a leash forever.

Everton strongly continue to be linked with him, so the sooner Rangers can make Patterson happy and start him regularly, the better.

He’s likely to feature a lot in the cups.

  1. Tav is just absolutely gash and needs dropped completely so our young Nathan gets the chance to shine, and how we miss Katic as well, SG made another major mistake in letting him go
