Official Rangers update on Ryan Jack’s injury
GLASGOW, SCOTLAND - NOVEMBER 22: Sam Cosgrove of Aberdeen is tackled by Ryan Jack of Rangers during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and Aberdeen at Ibrox Stadium on November 22, 2020 in Glasgow, Scotland. Gary Mac’s latest grim update on Ryan Jack confirmed effectively what we told you yesterday.

There is no ETA on Jack’s return, he is not even close to being in training, and rumours online claiming he’s ‘finished’ are gathering momentum, even if they’re based only on the lack of good news, rather than hard info to the contrary.

McAllister said this:

“Ryan Jack is still missing from training and he’s still working to get back to fitness.”

Simple, short, blunt and frankly a bit worrying.

This gives zero detail, zero prognosis, and only corroborates that there is no return in sight for the ex-Aberdeen man, and we’re now wondering if this is his 2021 already done, and he’s aiming to return properly next year.

Jack’s injury was never a simple one. It wasn’t just a calf injury, it was more than that, and it’s become very, very hard for him to recover from. We believe there may be knee problems in there too, and this issue has been on the horizon for years after his previous issues with an injury that Scotland’s Steve Clarke carelessly and ignorantly exacerbated.

All we know for sure is Jack’s injury issues, initially believed to be ‘nearly there’ are a far distance off that.

And our hearts break for him.
