“No point” – Rangers star on big-money move out

Ianis Hagi addressed the links with Roma yesterday by declaring his focus is on Rangers and there’s ‘no point’ talking about transfers given the summer window is closed.

The Romanian attacker, in such fine form at present, has been long-linked with a move out, and reports from his homeland claim a €20M deal has been agreed with Mourinho’s men.

But Hagi said much the right thing – avoiding outright debunking interest in him, and equally committing in the here and now to Rangers.

The playmaker’s stock is high, and those Romanian reports appeared inside 36 hours of an impressive cameo v Livi, so whether it’s just convenient or not we can’t be sure.

But Hagi’s own words were realistic, and admitted the transfer window is done and the next 3 months are about focusing on Rangers.

Rangers would almost certainly be happy with £17M for him, but there’s no real point discussing it in too much depth until the window appears again.

Time will tell if that would be a move Hagi would want, but for now he’s a Ranger and one of our best performing at present.
