Rangers have today rejected nearly double Everton’s original £5M bid for Nathan Patterson after throwing out an £8M bid.
Ibrox Noise explained some days ago the club’s valuation of Patterson was in the £10M-15M region, which was scoffed angrily by some fans, as usual, but naturally today’s developments we hope assure you the club is looking at him as being around 3 times that original £5M bid.
Patterson missed yesterday’s Old Firm through isolation, or transfer talk (whoever you believe) but the situation has become very interesting indeed.
Rangers have made it clear now to all interested parties that the Scotland international will not go cheap, and whether these rejections indicate his potentially bigger role this season remains to be seen.
Patterson is one of the hottest properties in Scottish football, and has a big future in the game. Rangers 100% do not want to lose a player of his talent for anything below market value, but if Everton return with a £12M+ bid Rangers may consider that.
But he’s definitely one the fans want to keep, and is surely in line now to succeed James Tavernier with much more urgency than before.
We’ll keep you posted.
Seems crazy that Everton seem more keen to sign him than we are to play him.
