If Leeds United want Rangers winger Ryan Kent, they’ll have to stump up £20M after it was confirmed that’s the ex-Liverpool man’s release clause.

Following a decent return to some form today for the attacker, interest is set to spike before the end of the window, amidst a change in his personal circumstances which could see him view England as a more viable destination now.

Kent is happy at Rangers but his own situation has changed recently meaning it’s harder for him to manage playing for the Famous than it used to be.

As such, if anyone, such as Leeds, did come in for him and bid the release clause, he would almost definitely be on the move.

Kent has generally behaved well as a Ranger, occasional dips in form aside, and the feeling now among Rangers supporters is that if his clause was matched and a £20M bid arrived, we’d be ok with him moving on.

He’s certainly given us decent value for the investment and was a real shout for POTY last season, so there is a sense we’ve had a good time with him and if he moved on, few would be absolutely shocked and devastated.

We’ll see if Leeds do come in with the required number this window.
