Rangers have been handed a colossal boost for the early portion of the season with the news Ryan Jack is just four days away from finally returning to training having missed all action since February.
The 6 month layoff has been incredible frustrating for all concerned, but the midfielder consults the surgeon on Wednesday and if the news is good, Jack will be on full training at long last having missed all of pre-season’s sessions through this recovery.
As Stevie G said, Jack has been training, but it’s been individual and fitness based, as opposed to with his team mates, but the green light on Wednesday will finally leave him free to get crunching in with the tackles again and playing like we know he can.
He isn’t going to make the CL qualifiers, short of a miracle, but his imminent return is a massive boost for the group stage (should Rangers get there) and the early portion of the domestic season, but it comes with a caveat:
Jack might not get the news he wants on Wednesday, he might still have a little bit of work to do, so we must temper our expectations a tad.
But he is close. Very close, and that’s wonderful.
